
Shrimp, when present are a very staple food source of rainbow trout. Best to fish shrimp in the early spring and fall period. The fall period is particularly good because the trout are feeding heavily prior to ice cover.
Fish the patterns as close to the bottom of the shoal or littoral zone as possible.
Shrimp colouration will vary in colour depending on the habitat they are living in.

Depth anchored – 15 feet
Retrieve – slow hand twist with irregular quick pulls
Note : shrimp can be fished with a floating line as well as with indicators when fishing the shallower shoal water
