
Best to fish in early spring, just after ice off and then again in mid fall period when boatman go on egg laying and swarming flights.
Anglers will see boatman hitting the water and diving down into the water and that is the signal to fish the pattern.

Anchored in 28 feet of water
Retrieve – 3 to 4 inch quick hand strip
Technique – cast out and wait approx. 90 seconds for flyline and fly to sink to about 22 feet in depth
Leader – 10 ft long with 5 pound tippet
Note : type III sinking line sinks at between 3 and 4 inches/second
